Physical Description
White activated alumina absorbent white sphere , odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, insoluble in water and alcohol, regular in particle size, smooth at surface, with high mechanical strength and strong adsorption of moisture, not expanding and cracking after adsorbing water, original shape kept.
Generic description and use of Gamma Alumina.
Among the different transition aluminas known, γ-alumina (γ-Al2O3) is perhaps the most important with direct application as a catalyst and catalyst support in the automotive and petroleum industries. The usefulness of this oxide can be traced to a favorable combination of its textural properties, such as surface area, pore volume, and pore size distribution and its acid/base characteristics, which are mainly related to surface chemical composition, local micro-structure, and phase composition.
